Now some people get excited over christmas, easter ... i don't know ... the January sales?
Nope. Not me. I get excited over the summer picking season.
Yeah i know i'm a massive loser but the best date anyone could ever take me on would be strawberry picking.
June – gooseberries, red currants, rhubarb, strawberries
July – black currants, cherries, gooseberries, raspberries, red currants, rhubarb, strawberries
August – early-season apples, blackberries, blackcurrants, cherries, plums, raspberries, strawberries
September – mid-season apples, blackberries, elderberries, plums, raspberries, strawberries
October – mid-season apples, elderberries, pears, plums, raspberries, strawberries
November – late-season apples
Don't forget your five a day * inserts winky face *
Seriously though. It's a lovely day out and also means your supporting farmers and our land instead of the imported water pumped rubbish the big stores give to us in over priced plastic packages.
Yes i'm sounding a bit hippy but it really bugs me that i'm paying £3 for 10 strawberries that are ... lets face it gross.
Ps Don't forget to love the ugly fruit.
Love you all,
Georgie
