Little Room Inspo

Okay so i've been super inspired on instagram lately... i've completely changed who i follow ( still in the process whyyyy in the world did i start following so many ) . You are your own keeper and instead of moaning about who or what you see, change it.

Anywho i've been loving seeing little ones nurseries, bed rooms, playrooms so i thought i'd share my favourite accounts :)

These colours are just perfect and oh my goodness can i just own all the furniture please?! I cant wait to move so i can do a bit of reno on some vintage cabinets and then maybe have enough room for all this cute wooden goodness?

Playdough Date

Although splashing in puddles is fun for 10 minutes you can’t spend your whole day out there with that English ‘breeze’ scolding your ears and the drips of rain promising to make it down your neck.

Winter ergh. 

As i decided to come up with some home activities that kept India and I entertained, i thought i'd share them. Anything that keeps me from pulling my hair out and switching on the screen. That sweet sweet screen ... oh I dream of that thing and the silence it brings.

The first thing we've done is playdough!

I found some beautiful pots by Dough My Dear on Instagram. I then set about finding bits and bobs for some good ole’ tactile stimulation. Hiding objects that can be dug out, squelched in, thrown across the table helps prolong the play! 

You can easily make your own- I would defo recommend putting it in tubs or jars as that adds to the play!

Here’s my recipe -

• 1 cup of flour.
• 1/4 cup of salt.
• 3/4 cup of water.
• 3 tablespoons of lemon juice.
• 1 tablespoon of coconut oil.

You can enhance it by adding a drop of an essential oils such as lavender to add an aroma or food colouring / natural dyes to change the colour!

Play dough activities are a great way to develop fine motor skills.

Manipulating playdough helps to strengthen hand muscles and develop control over the fingers. Snipping playdough sausages helps develop scissor cutting skills. There are also specific activities that can also promote skilled use of the tripod fingers, which can help develop pencil control and better handwriting.
