I don't have time to treat my hair to a million treatments so i try to make everything as streamlined as possible. I wash my hair once a week, when the sebum starts to make my hair look greasy on that day i will use argan oil on my mid lengths and ends. This will usually make my hair look uber shiny so ill just stick it up in a top knot and get on with my day, if it looks like a utter greasy disaster i will just leave it on as long as i can.
I previously used Amika The cure intense repair mask but it made more sense with my time frame to be able to run about all day with a natural product in, However if you can splurge on it i highly recommend!
* They have such amazing brand values that they really are one to support if you can ( on top of making your hair look bomb )*
My favourite shampoo at the moment either has to be Amika The cure or the new botanical range from Molton Brown, loving the Hydrating with Camomile - It cleans your hair like no other and leaves you feeling / smelling like you've had a spa treatment, super soothing.
Conditioner wise it has to be Olaplex NO.5, i could not dye my hair without this. I swear by this stuff, it is worth every single penny and lasts so long if you make sure that you're not over washing your hair. I will put it all over, wait 3 minutes and then brush my hair through and leave it on for as long as I have left in the shower.
After the wash i always let it dry naturally, i keep away from heat as much as possible. Even if i look like i could benefit from a hairdryer.
Once it is nearly dry i will add some oil, i currently use L’Oréal Professionnel Mythic Oil and then straight on top of that i will smooth Olaplex No.6 Bond Smoother on to the ends. On weekends I may treat myself to a little heat! If i do i will make sure to use a heat protector. I currently use L'Oreal Elnett Heat Protect Styling Hair spray but honestly i have no idea if it works or not. It doesn't leave a sticky residue or feel heavy if that sells it to you? Let me know if you have one you absolutely love as i'm in the market to change this up once I go through the bottle.
I curl my hair with the GHD Curl Wand . These ones are tapered at the end so they give a more beachy undone loose vibe. To finish it off I use a shine spray . The difference it makes is incredible. It will take any dry hair to a instant gloss treatment look. A must must must for blondes as it's so hard to retain that shine.
That's it. I will not put anymore heat or product on my hair for the rest of the week until wash day.
Now lets talk about bleach. Oh wow, have I learnt how to bleach my hair through lockdown. I highly suggest running over to youtube and get schooled. Totally recommend - Brad Mondos Youtube. I vow by Blondme. Its the only one that lifts my hair without completely snapping it off. I recently used my old tub on my extensions, trying to brighten them up a little and wow did they destroy them. I couldnt believe I used to use that on my hair. CHEAP IS NOT BETTER - THEY DO NOT ALL DO THE SAME JOB. I will bleach my roots as per the instructions on the packaging, after that i will use the Fanola Orange Shampoo i will apply this once all over, making sure there are no patches that haven't foamed up as otherwise the pigment will latch on to your hair unevenly. I will then do another shampoo but let this sit just on my roots for 2 minutes, this gets rid of any orange tones and leaves me with pure white hair. I used to use the Fanola yellow shampoo but i found that it had too much pigment and would leave my hair too grey. If you use this on your extensions please bare in mind that they will act differently from your hair. I fill a sink with water and add a dash of the shampoo making sure it is mixed with the water. I will submerge the hair. If it does not tone enough I will add a little more . Less is always more especially as extensions have gone through different processes and will usually create patches. I have used the Blondme SCHWARZKOPF BM Bond Enf. Lift. ice which was incredible however i just couldn't afford to keep up with the upkeep and price. As it does add another step which this mom has no time for. Another toner I would recommend would be bleach London White Heat which i use from time to time.
I will do my roots between 4 - 6 weeks. I don't let them get too long as otherwise it will create banding and my hair knowledge is not good enough to know how to fix that. A great way to try Olaplex is with this trial size beauty. I know the bigger bottles can feel like a massive chunk of change but it truley does turn your hair around.
I strongly believe in looking after your assets, i really want the best hair i can achieve at home -so i take care of it. These products reflect that. These products really last if you use them correctly and are truley worth the science behind them.
Hope this has helped a little , please don't tag me in any hair disasters that i have possibly approved!!
